LORD'S DAY-SUN'S DAY-SUNDAY-THEIR COMMUNION DAY
To be transferred to board 'Church History Conversations, Discussions and Debates, in 'Gospel Topics' category on Mara/Luke4ever site. (Created 8-1-2021 immediately after Church by webmaster Anakin77. Thread: Truth v. Tradition: The Baptism for our Dead.
According to The Appendix of The Book A New Commentary On The Doctrine And Covenants, by F. Henry Edwards, in 1884, resolutions were drawn up and ratified by the Conference that made of none effect the Word of God.
"Resolved that it is the sense of this quorum [quorum-
an organization of a certain number of a particular Priesthood
office, ex. 7 Deacons-(a deaconate) or 12 Apostles (Acts)] that
the commandments of a local character, given to the first organization
of the church, are binding on the Reorganization, only so far as they are
either reiterated or referred to as binding by commandment to this church.
This man's resolution, though it has the appearance of wisdom, actually makes null and void ANY commandment of God if he doesn't repeat it over again to the Reorganization! How foolish!
Any commandment of God, EVER, even if it is not repeated EVER if given ONCE in ANY AGE of THE WORLD, in any Scripture ever written is just as binding on the Church as it ever was and always will be even if never referred to again ever, no matter how many foolish Conference Resolutions that men draw up that say otherwise!!!
In 1886, Jason W. Briggs, Zenos H. Gurley, and 4 other individuals withdrew from the Church because they refused to believe what Joseph Smith taught about the Doctrine of Baptisms for our dead, the connecting link between Fathers and the Sons without which not even Paul the Apostle can be saved!
If Baptism for the dead isn't practiced properly, only Jesus Christ will be saved, for it is he alone who has kept ALL the commandments of God, never sinning, of all the rest of humanity!
The document of withdrawal that Jason, Zenos and the 4 others drew up was referred to a committee consisting of E.L Kelley, I.L Rogers, and Heman C. Smith, who pointed out that baptism for the dead is one of the 'doctrines that are not binding on us anymore because God never repeated it to the Reorganization,' and the WHOLE CHURCH cursed themselves by adopting this evil report, so the opinions of SIX EVIL MEN were acceded to rather than the Truth of God!-Brent Lee Sohlden V
