This is original material.
This RPG Text Adventure (I am the Gamemaster but Green Ice Cream can help if he so desires. We have been communicating about Text Adventure possibilities, so I have his permission, but I will not tag anyone) has the same basic rules as Green Ice Cream's Text Adventure with some noticeable differences:
1)The Gamefield is in my imagination, though notebooks and text documents will help me to keep it all consistent and maintain continuity.
2) You are free to create a character and spawn anywhere in the local area for I know the area well enough and will provide a list of viable spawning points and you choose what starting inventory items to start the game with.
3) NPC's will be in the game. There can be player interactions such as trade, commerce, alliances and PvP, etc in this game. The NPC PvE enemies and other various kinds of NPC's will be created by the Gamemaster(s).
Like losing a game of Solitaire, if your character dies, you respawn anywhere you have already been or at one of the provided spawning points at 100%HP and 100% health but not a whit more or less added to or taken away from the items or ammunition you had when your character died.
The initial character the game starts with is named Mekor the Second, and is the only character, the main character, that any player can give a command to. When he dies, I choose where he respawns.
Place : Earth.
Location: Walmart.
City: Anywhere, USA (Need to consult a Map. Lack item: Map)
There are railroad tracks and Mainstreet nearby, with Downtown to the south past the tracks. To the North is an Interstate Highway and an old Church and a road to a big city. Down the tracks to the East is a small backwater town.
To the West down the tracks is a small town.
The Main
Character, Mekor II
Inventory: Camo Kevlar Armor and Helmet, K-Bar Knife, M-16 Machine Gun, Combat boots, grenade belt, debit card with $888.00 balance, $60.00 Cold Hard Cash On Hand, Pocketbook full of 3.00 in quarters, nickels dimes and pennies, Wallet with the following items: Drivers' license (and State ID), Social Security Card, Visa (for travel), Passport, Birth Certificate, Global Citizenship Certification, Israeli ID, African ID, Multipass for all Registered Transport from planes, buses to passenger trains and Ubers to Taxis to Trolleys to Subways and L-Trains to charter flights, a large backpack with unlimited capacity but yet always remains lightweight.
You do not have a cellphone because they are easily tracked.
Scenario: Armed hostiles can be heard in the next aisle over. Lawlessness and anarchy are worldwide. Anything goes but the economy is booming and all the store shelves are stocked worldwide. Everywhere is PvP but players can choose to either fight each other or team up and fight and survive together or form alliances, or pretty much do anything (and we do mean anything (If it is not within reason, I will disregard the command, but with no penalty).
Rules: Anyone can say a command. All commands players give will be used. If more than one command is given at a time, you do not control what happens in between commands. For example you may say:
>SQUAT
>SHOOT GUN
And I the gamemaster (or any of the other gamemasters), who control(s) the action, may say:
">SQUAT"
You squat. The other combatant aims down and kills you. Choose a respawn point 1-7.
">SHOOT GUN"
You cannot perform this action yet until you respawn. When you respawn, are you sure you still wish to fire your weapon?
Now, you may say instead:
>SQUAT AND SHOOT GUN
, which may (no guarantees) have a better outcome.
As far as commands go, be creative. A command can be as long as two or more actionable paragraphs or as short as a single letter or symbol such as >^ (Up) or >V (Down). You can say >Jump up and attempt to fly (No guarantees you will be able to) to >Drive five miles and turn East, then drive to the nearest town or >Fly across the ocean and land in the nearest Seacost airfield. No guarantees your plane won't be shot down in the attempt though, but then again, maybe it won't be.
SOME BASIC COMMANDS:
>I
Inventory
>M
Map (If you have one)
>N, E, S, W, ^, V
>LOOK AROUND
>TAKE
A command could even be a line of dialogue or two.
An Important Command:
>Create a character.
Then create him/her (or however they identify) and give them a name, items, money, or whatever equipment you feel would help them to be successful in the game. I will see that a new character has entered the game and will offer a choice of x number of spawning points.
And last note, Outer Space, the Moon, the ISS and even Mars and even Pluto (if you can find some way to get there) is not off limits in this game. Have fun, and the Sky's not the limit! Let's see what we can do.
Ok,
BEGIN GAME
Say a command.
Because I cannot edit (timed out) and I have more to add, and no one has posted, I will add the eight Spawning points. You do not have to begin the game with the above character in his scenario, but may choose to create your own character (you can create as many characters as you think you can handle) and spawn at either of these eight points. You may choose to start with things such as a GPS map or cellphone, but may not learn the name of the town or city you are in for the sake of anonymity: Any player can look at the map others bring up and use it to get around. Here are the eight spawning points:
8 spawning points:
Anywhere, USA:
1. Walmart Electronics Department (Back of store, opposite of entrance)
2. Left onramp onto Interstate.
3. Right onramp onto Interstate.
4. Local library S of Downtown right of Mainstreet, Adult Fiction Section.
5. Anywhere USA Railroad Crossing (No trains are running at present).
(Also there is scarce traffic, save for rogue and appropriated for various reasons vehichles. Economy driven by teletransported ("beamed") goods from suppliers to markets)
6. Mid town street, to left off MainStreet, in DownTown S of tracks. (Can't go right)
7. Fort HQ, Jedi Hutch, Jedi Library. Right off Mainstreet, N of Interserstate onramps.
8. Fort HQ, Sith Hutch, Sith Library S of Interstate On/off ramps, left off Mainstreet.
(Yes you may choose to read a book or view a holotape or holocran or try a Holodeck or augmented reality program. I'm creative, try me.)
Because this is a post apocalyptic future scenario, you can't visit your great aunt in Canada or draw money from your offshore bank accounts.
The only thing you can really expect is the unexpected.
Ok, now that we have all our information we need to play, BEGIN GAME.
Say a command.
PS The list of spawning points will continue to expand as the game grows and prospers and more people play and spread out.
